Kathryn Sauls Obituary
Kathryn "Kit" McLawhorn Sauls, 84, died Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Cypress Glen Retirement Community.
The funeral service will be conducted Monday at 11:30 am at Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Grifton Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:30 am until the funeral hour.
Kit, daughter of the late Jacob Bruce McLawhorn, Sr. and Fonnie Belle House, was born in Pitt County near Grifton on March 31, 1932. She was a graduate of Grifton High School in 1950 and East Carolina Teachers College in 1954. After which she taught at the B F Grady Elementary School and Johnson Air Base. Kathryn was married to George M. Sauls in 1955 an Air Force Officer whose career took her to many European and Far East countries. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, the Methodist Women and UMC Circle One.
She is survived by her husband, George M. Sauls; daughter, Vicki Sauls; son, Jeffrey Sauls and wife, Jacque; granddaughters, Taylor and Brynnan Sauls, all of Greenville; and brothers, Jacob Bruce McLawhorn, Jr. and James McLawhorn and wife, Hilda, all of Grifton.
Memorials may be made to the Cypress Glen, Benevolence Care Fund, 100 Hickory Street, Greenville, NC 27858.
