Kenneth J. Murphy

HENDERSON, NEVADA - Kenneth John Murphy, 57, residing in Henderson, Nev., passed from this life at Progressive Hospital in Las Vegas on Thursday Nov. 2, 2006, after two years treatment for brain cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Linda; his stepson John and a grandson of Las Vegas; mother and father Mildred and Jim of Tarboro, N.C.; brothers, Jim of Ridgefield, Conn., and Brian of Durham; sisters, Jean of Ridgefield, Conn., Kathy Murphy-Baum of Webster Groves, Miss., and Patti Boerner of Frankfurt, Germany. Ken lived his early life in Hartsdale, N.Y. He graduated from Stepinac High School in White Plains, N.Y., and Manhattan College, Bronx, N.Y., with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, followed by an M.S. from North Carolina State University. Ken's career as a circuit designer for fail-safe computer systems was at ICS Triplex, a leading manufacturer of safety critical shutdown and control stystems for many world premier oil, gas, chemical and aerospace companies. Ken loved his work and designed many documented and patented systems still in use. He was an ideal husband, father and grandfather. God blessed him on earth and surely welcomed him into his heavenly kingdom. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of St. Rose Dominican Hospital on Monday.
