To the Garner Family.
I just learned of Mr. Garner's passing. I only knew him for the 2 years I worked at Garner Wholesale in the late 80's, but I will never forget him. He was one of those "once in a lifetime" characters you meet, and he seemed to enjoy life about as much as anyone I've ever known. I know he will be greatly missed.

Griff, Elane and family,
I was so sorry to hear about the death of Mr. Garner. I worked with all of you at Garner Wholesale back in the late 80’s and I have very fond memories of the great times we had. My office was beside Mr. Garner’s in the warehouse and I feel honored to have known him. He has had a positive impact on the community and has touched so many hearts with his caring and jovial character. One thing that sticks out during the Garner Wholesale days was he had a trailer at the beach that he kept for employees to use on a sign-up basis - what a wonderful “perk” for ALL of his employees! That was Mr. Garner – he had such a big heart! I remember his “Butterbean” song and I gave a copy to my father and he still sings it to this day. Mr. Garner will never be forgotten and I’m so glad I had the chance to get to know him. My prayers are with all of you during the most difficult time and even though we’ve lost touch through the years, please feel free to contact me if there is anything I can do for you. God Bless you all!

Dear Les and Katrina, my thoughts and prayers are with you and the rest of your family. In the area of public service, your Dad was a giant. I remember well his service with BSA Troop 340 during its early days and the support he gave the boys. He was one of a kind.

To the Garner Family,
Our prayers are with you during this time. As a former Garner Wholesale employee I am very acquainted with Kiwanis and the peanut sale. I was a receptionist so I was in charge of promoting the sale of peanuts. Mr. Garner made sure that I was on top of this more so than answering the phone (smile). He had a very full and enjoyable life. Family "Recall it as often as you wish a happy memory never wears out".
