Linda Lou Hill

Linda Lou (Hardee) Hill Rossville, TN - Linda Lou Hardee Hill, 88, passed on September 30, 2025.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, October 16 at Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 15 from 3 to 5 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hill was born in rural Pitt County near Grimesland, North Carolina to the late Richard Clarence and Addie Ruth Smith Hardee. She graduated from Grimesland High School in 1955. She married Herman E. "Buddy" Hill Jr in 1957, and they were married for 56 years. While Herman Hill served in the U.S. Air Force, they lived in Georgia, Illinois, South Carolina and Tennessee before returning to North Carolina; where they settled in New Bern until Linda recently relocated to Tennessee in 2024.

Linda raised three sons and retired as a Teacher's Assistant from Craven County Schools. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, reading, and puzzle books.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman E. Hill Jr.; sons James Edward and John David Hill; brother, Richard Clarence Hardee Jr; sisters, Peggy Lockhart and Mamie Ruth Cowan.

She is survived by son, Jeffery Charles Hill and wife, Alice, of Rossville, TN; daughter-in-law, Kelly Hill, of Noble, OK; brother-in-law, Charles Cowan of Greenville, NC; grandchildren, Julia, Shawn and Jessica; four great-grandchildren; and one great- great-grandchild. Linda had several close family members, friends and long-time neighbors who were very special to her.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for Baptist Trinity Home Care and Hospice for their care of Mrs. Hill.
