Linda Schellenberger Obituary

Mrs. Linda Todd Schellenberger, 78, passed away on February 19, 2015. She will be remembered as a kind spirit with a beautiful smile. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother and was a generous and caring friend to many. The memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, February, 21, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd, Charlotte. Mrs. Schellenberger was a native of Charlotte, NC and graduated from West Mecklenburg HS in 1955. She attended Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Charlotte and St. Josephs College in Standish, Maine where she received RN and BS degrees. She and her late husband, Dr. Robert Earl Schellenberger, who passed away on May 27, 2013, lived in several locations. They were married on December 30, 1961 and through the years they made many friends in Chapel Hill, NC, College Park, MD, Winston-Salem, NC and Bucks County, PA. They settled in Greenville, NC in 1981, where she was employed as a nurse at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, ECU Student Health Services and Red Cross Blood Services. She was also actively involved in Greenville Service League, League of Women Voters, Beaufort County American Red Cross Volunteers and the Stephen Ministry at Peace Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her eldest son Brian Tod Schellenberger and his children, Kevin, Alan and Laura; and son Keith William Schellenberger and wife, Patricia and their children, Carrie and Robert; and daughter Heidi Louise Rayher and husband, Dylan and their child, Phoenix; and sister Mollie Baker and husband Richard of Charlotte; and brother George Edwin Todd, Jr. and wife, Charlene of Mount Holly. Memorial contributions may be made to your local Red Cross Blood Center. The Charlotte location is at 2425 Park Rd, Charlotte, NC 28203.
