Loree Durham Obituary

GOLDSBORO - Mrs. Loree Matthews Durham, 78, of 461 Millers Chapel Road, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2006 at home. Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Woods Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Goldsboro with Elder Ricky Dawson officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery, Goldsboro. She was a retired teacher of Wayne County Schools. She was a graduate of Fayetteville State University, Class of 1955, a life member of Fayetteville State University National Alumni, a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, a life member of the NAACP, a member of the Golden Circle, C.A. Whitehead Assembly #188. She was also a member of Woods Chapel F.W.B. Church where she was a member of the Trustee Board. She is survived by a son, Kennedy Durham of Smithfield; three sisters, Vanzelee Ashford of West Melbourne, Fla., Elnora Vinson and Edna Battle, both of Goldsboro; two brothers, Willie Matthews Jr. and Williard Matthews, both of Goldsboro; three grandchildren; a special friend, Adgie O'Bryant of Goldsboro; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 at Woods Chapel Church in Goldsboro, and other times at 461 Millers Chapel Road. Arrangements handled by Mitchell's Funeral Home in Greenville.
