WINTERVILLE - Maxine Sills Branton, 90, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2024. The funeral service will be held Sunday, November 24, 2024, at 3:30 PM in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Dennis Peay and Keith Gardner. Private burial with family will be in Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:15 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Branton, daughter of the late Roland Thomas and Laura Stroud Sills, was a native of Martin County and was a graduate of Oak City High School. She moved to Greenville in 1956, where she was employed with State Bank, Bank of America, for 25 years. She also worked at ECU for 11 years in the Business Affairs Office, prior to her retirement. She was a member of Unity Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Branton was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Harry "C.H." Branton, III, and a grandson, William Michael Styron; and son-in-law, Thomas Minges. She is survived by a daughter, Kay Branton Minges, and son, Michael Keith Branton and wife, Irene, both of Greenville; grandchildren, Michelle Minges Peay and husband, Dennis, Heather Minges Wiggins and husband, Brian, Kristen Branton Minges Nobles and husband, Matt, Courtney Blair Minges Gallimore and husband, Eric, and Alexandra Gullette and husband, Charles, and Charles Thomas Styron; great grandchildren, Miller, Anna Claire, Landon Wiggins, Anne Marie Nobles, Kaylee and Thomas Gallimore, Charlie, Addison, Kinsley and Wyatt Gullette.
