Peggy Mullen Obituary

Peggy Abbott Mullen Grifton - Peggy Abbott Mullen, 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 am at Legacy Church. The family will receive friends following the service. A private burial will be held in Grifton Cemetery.

Peggy was born in Hugo to the late Vance and Mildred Abbott and was a lifelong resident of Grifton. She was an active member of Grifton First Baptist Church, now known as Legacy Church, where she served in the nursery for many years. She was a loving mother who loved her family dearly. She loved life and decorating for all the seasons, especially Christmas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Early Mullen; and her brother, Vance Abbott, Jr.

Peggy is survived by her daughters, Gail Simmons (Larry), Hope Hardison (Ken), Earlene Mills (Tim), all of Grifton, and Diane Craft (Timmy) of Ayden; grandchildren, Jessica McKinney (Chad), Amy Hasse (David), Blake Hardison (Sarah), Adam Craft (Deanna), Colby Hardison (Brandi), and Sarah Craft; 13 great grandchildren, Hayden, Eliza, Brynlee, Camden, Elsiann, Mason, Lucas, Adalynn, Olivia, Jackson, Noah, Della, and Abbott; and she shared a special bond with Jason, Allison, Samuel, and Isaiah Currie, who she loved as her own.
