Robert Arniotes Obituary

Robert J. Arniotes ORIENTAL - Robert James "Greek" Arniotes, 75, of Oriental, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2010, at home. He was born on March 15, 1935, in Brooklyn, N.Y. to James and Jane Arniotes. He graduated from Mitchell Junior College in 1962. From 1963-1966 he attended East Carolina University where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Bob worked as a Cartographer for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency in Bethesda, Maryland for 20 years and later moved to Oriental where he became an avid sports fisherman and naturalist. He is survived by a brother, Jimmy Arniotes of East Elmhurst, N.Y.; cousin, Theresa M. Dikomeit of The Villages, Fla.; and his nieces and nephews. Bob is also survived by his life long friends. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 19, 2010 at Bob's home with Father Paul Mizener from St. Peter The Fisherman Catholic Church officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Bob's memory to: Nativity Of The Holy Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church 3370 Avon Rd., Greenville, NC 27858.
