Selma Avery Obituary
Mrs. Avery, a native of Greene County, had been a resident of Pitt County most of her life. She served as home health care aide for 25 years. A loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Avery.
She is survived by her daughter, Rose Garris and husband, L.B.; son, Franklin Avery, all of Greenville; grandchildren, Brian Keith Garris and wife, Shelly, Eric Conrad Garris and wife, Trudy, all of Stokes, Johnny Franklin Avery, of Florida, and William Herring Avery of Greenville; great-grandchildren, Lauren Garris, Megan Garris Boyles, Ian Avery Garris, and Rosanna Garris; twin sister, Etta Gray S. Averett, of Greenville; brother, Sterling Skinner, of Lake Gaston; niece, Gloria Potter; nephew, Kent Averett; sisters in-law, Jewel and Gertrude Skinner; and a brother in-law, Percy Davis.
The family will receive friends at other times at the home of L.B. and Rose Garris.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hickory Grove F.W.B. Church, 5547 NC Hwy. 30, Robersonville, NC 27871.
