Tyler Viscardi Obituary
Tyler was born and grew up in Greenville. He attended the St. Peter's Catholic School, and went on to the Arendell Parrott Academy of Kinston, from which he graduated high school. He made friends easily, and had many devoted close friends that he met through school and his many activities. With his wonderful sense of humor and his easy manner, he always brought a smile to people's faces, and he loved to make them laugh.
Tyler enjoyed athletics and participated on the soccer and lacrosse teams in school. He was an enthusiastic New York Giants fan throughout his life. In addition, he loved surfing, skiing, and camping with his family. Tyler cared much for people less fortunate than him, and was involved in multiple service activities. He participated in several Greenville Life Teen Missions sponsored by St. Peter's Church, and also the SERV trip to Peru sponsored by Parrott Academy.
Tyler was attending the University of Maryland, and would be starting his junior year this Fall. He was a Government and Politics major, and was very active in his fraternity there.
His family will always carry the love of Tyler in their hearts.
Surviving are his parents, Amy Avellone Viscardi and Dr. Jeffrey Joseph Viscardi; sister, Chelsea Morgan Viscardi; maternal grandmother, Patricia Fox Avellone; paternal grandmother, Catherine Morrow Viscardi; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 219 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh. There will be a gathering in honor of Tyler Fox Viscardi following the funeral mass from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Raleigh North Hills Hotel, 4100 Main at North Hills Street, Raleigh.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to NC Chapter, US Lacrosse. In memo line please include Tyler Fox Viscardi Fund. These donations will go to benefit young players in need of lacrosse equipment. Send to: NC Chapter, US Lacrosse PO Box 791, Morrisville, NC 27560.
Another suggested memorial would be to The Wounded Warrior Project at WoundedWarriorProject.org by visiting the "Donate in Memory or Honor of" page listed under "Donate Now."
