William Jefferson Obituary

FOUNTAIN - Mr. William Henry Jefferson, 88, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007. A graveside service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens near Farmville by the Rev. Doug Owens. William Henry served his country as an Army and Navy veteran and was a member of Otters Creek Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Bessie Jefferson; three brothers, Thurman, Richard, and Raymond; two sisters, Minnie Bell Norville and Annie Bruce Lewis. He is survived by his wife, Letha Jefferson of the home; children, Wilma J. Owens and husband, Ray, of Tarboro, William H. Jefferson Jr. and wife, Dora, of Winterville, and Sheron J. Crocker and husband, R.L. "Bob" of Farmville; a brother, Robert Lee Jefferson of Fountain; two sisters, Adele J. Morris of Tennessee and Louise J. Stallings of Macclesfield; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many more friends and relatives. The family will receive friends at the Farmville Funeral Home tonight from 7 until 9. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to United Hospice, P.O. Box 201, Farmville. Arrangements by Farmville Funeral Home.
