A Message of Sincerest Empathy

To Mrs. Barbara Mitchell, the Mitchell Family and the Good Hope Free Will Baptist Church Family :

As you mourn your loss and have celebrated the homegoing of your beloved husband, father and Pastoral Shepherd, Bishop W. H. Mitchell, who for many years was Pastor of the Good Hope Free Will Baptist Church of Winterville, NC, our prayer is that God will:

"...appoint unto them that mourn in
Zion,
to give unto them beauty for ashes,
the oil of joy for mourning,
the garment of praise for the
spirit of heaviness;
that they might be called trees
of righteousness,
the planting of the LORD, that he
might be glorified."
(Isaiah 61:3, KJV)

With the blessed assurance that God's grace is sufficient and will sustain you:

"The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
The LORD make his face shine upon thee,
and be gracious unto thee:
The LORD lift up his countenance
upon thee, and give thee peace."
(Numbers 6:24-26, KJV)

To First Lady Mitchell and Family, as well as the Good Hope Free Will Baptist Church Family. My earliest memories are of Bishop Mitchell at the Tabernacle preaching his sermon "Can you see the writing on the wall". He spoke in such a way that even a young boy like me could understand. As a child my mother, the late Eldress Ella M. Dixon, would take me along with her and Eldress Laura Nobles to the Tabernacle and various other services. One night I can remember not being dressed and ready to go with them, and I had cried my heart out because they had already left, and I had wanted so much to see and hear Bishop Mitchell. My going into the ministry is above all due to the calling on my life, but also in part of having Bishop Mitchell as a role model, someone to look up to, an example of how to be an effective minister. His character spoke volumes on how christians, present and future leaders the world over should be. Im so glad that I had the opportunity to tell the Bishop how much he impacted my life. Thank God for Dr. W.H. Mitchell! He was an annoited and TRUE man of God, and shall never be forgotten, for it is written in his word,"Let the work I've done, speak for me". Continue to lean on him, and may he grant you the peace that passes all understanding.

In His Grace,
Kevin F. Edwards

To Valeria & Mitchell Family;

"You are in our thoughts and prayers"

Isaiah 53:4:
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

Isaiah 51:11:
Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

1 Thessalonians 4:13:
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

1 Corinthians 15:54-55:
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

Isaiah 53:4-6:
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

We the Pastor and members of the St. Matthew (Bonnerton, NC) & Live Oak (Grifton, NC) UAFWB Churches offer to you the Mitchell family our deepest sympathy at the loss of your loved one. II Corinthians 4:18-5:4 "While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life." Ciontinue to look to the hills from whence comes all of your help.

Humbly submitted the St. Matthew & Live Oak UAFWB Churches

"I even lost a former boss" So many chapters of good memories have been written together by our families and to think God gave us 47 years. We have some awesome memories to reminisce. Our link in the chain has once again been broken but we all rejoice to see our love ones feasting & enjoying the company of each other at that Heavenly table as we all did so many weekends down here.
