William Strickland Obituary
AYDEN - William Jeffery Strickland, 48, passed away peacefully at home on Monday September 24, 2018 surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be conducted at Wilkerson Funeral Chapel on Friday at 2pm. Reverend Michael Rowell will officiate the funeral services. Burial to follow at Pinewood Memorial Park. Jeff was born January 4, 1970 to William and Patsy Strickland. He was a member of Ayden FWB Church. Jeff received his NC Electrical Contractors License in 1998. He was employed by the City of Greenville's Recreation and Parks Department for 22 years. He enjoyed his job and the many friendships he made along the way. He loved helping people. No matter the time of day or the need, Jeff was always willing and ready to answer the call.
Jeff enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was best known for his contagious laugh and the many pranks he made on family and friends. He loved serving the Lord, his church and the community. Jeff became a member of The Gideons International Greenville South Camp where he proudly served until his declined health. Jeff's loving kindness and spirit will be missed by everyone that knew him.
Preceding him in death was his brother Phillip Strickland.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 27 years, Cindi S Strickland, daughter Chastity S Veneski and husband Kyle Veneski, grandson James Bryce Veneski of Greenville, NC; son Justin Cody Strickland of the home; parents William and Pasty Strickland of Seven Springs, NC; a brother Gary Strickland and wife Karen of Tennessee; sister Tracy Cox and husband Richard of Lumberton, NC. He also leaves behind his loving in-laws, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Thursday September 27, 2018.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Ayden FWB Church, P.O. Box 203 Ayden NC 28513 or Gideon's International Greenville South Camp PO Box 175 Winterville NC 28590.

I fondly remember my cousin Jeff from the summers all of the cousins spent on my Grandmothers farm in Seven Springs NC. Sad thing about growing up is you usually seldom see each other from your younger days. I last spoke with Jeff about 15 years ago and he said he wanted to take me fishing out on his boat on the coast. Sadly I never took him up on his offer.

Cindi I am so sorry to hear about Jeff's passing. I know this is a difficult time for you and the children. Grief has no time limit so remember the good times and Remember what a good hearted person he was. He was such a great help to me and Charles. He will be missed

Jeff was such a kind, thoughtful and funny guy! Working with him for many years was a real pleasure. He was a trooper and a fighter and always kept a positive attitude. He was also very gracious and willing to help anyone who needed it. An all around great person. We sure will miss him. God's blessings to Cindi and his family.
