Charles Gaylord Obituary

GALESBURG - Charles S. Gaylord, 73, Galesburg, died at 11:40 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, in the Marigold Health Care Center.
He was born Aug. 28, 1945, in Moline, the son of William H. and Ethel J. (Danek) Gaylord. He had been married to Sharon DeGroot, JoAnn Gaylord and Virginia Gaylord.
He is survived by three sons, Steven Gaylord and Michael Gaylord, both of Galesburg and Christopher (Cindy) Gaylord of Sevierville, Tennessee; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; three brothers, Myron Gaylord, Paul Gaylord and Barney Gaylord; a stepbrother, Thomas Gaylord; and a stepsister, Kathy Eckhardt. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mina Anderson.
Charles was an extruder operator at Maytag for 30 years, retiring May 1, 1999. He graduated from Viola High School in 1963 and attended Carl Sandburg College. He really enjoyed working with computers.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, in Petrie Cemetery in New Windsor. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is handling arrangements for the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
