Dale Frakes Obituary

GREENBRIER, Ark. - Dale Lloyd Frakes, 80, of Greenbrier, Arkansas, died at home on Sept. 17, 2020.

Dale was born July 12, 1940, to Floyd and Winona Frakes in Galesburg, Illinois. On June 16, 1962, he married Patricia Holmes and they had been married nearly 50 years when Pat Frakes died Feb. 4, 2012.

Dale never let the grass grow long under his feet, as he was a Master Barber in Galesburg. Dale then moved to Texas and transitioned into sales of equipment for semi-trailer manufactures. Dale made the move to numerous branches from Texas to Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas. In 1986, he started his own business in Tennessee, Truck Trailers and Equipment Inc., lasting until retirement in 2008 to the state of Arkansas.

Dale was preceded in death by both his parents; his wife; one sister, Mary Jones; and one daughter, Georgiann Frakes.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory one brother-in-law, Kent Jones; two sons, Rick Frakes and Brad Frakes and his wife Stephanie Frakes. He also has seven grandchildren, Kayla Frakes, Nicolle Jones and her husband Chase Jones, Blake Frakes, Todd Frakes and his wife Kaitlin Frakes, Brianna Frakes, Amber Frakes and Haley Frakes; and two great-grandchildren, Emerson Henderson and Marlie Frakes.

His ashes will be spread at the East Linwood Cemetery Scattering Garden in Galesburg at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to www.dementiasociety.org.
