Edith Joseph Obituary

GALESBURG - Edith Fawn Joseph, 87, Galesburg, died at 6 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2012, in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born Feb. 24, 1925, in Burlington, Iowa the daughter of Glen Elsworth and Bertha Alta Taylor Frymire. She married Anthony N. Joseph on Aug. 1, 1943, in Kahoka, Mo. He preceded her in death June 11, 1987.
She is survived by five sons, Anthony "Donnie" (and JuDee), John "Mike," Joe (and Debbie), Gary and Phillip (and Karen), all of Galesburg; three daughters, Carol (and Gary) Denniston and Janet Hall, both of Galesburg and Mary (and Jerry) Montgomery of Marble Falls, Texas; 28 grandchildren; 65 great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren with three on the way; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sons, Sam, Bill, and Danny; three brothers; three sisters; and three half-brothers.
Edith was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and canning; camping and fishing; football; playing cards and games with her family; and spending time with her grandchildren. She was of Catholic faith.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Milton Marquith will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
