Marguerite Sargeant Obituary
She was born June 1, 1917, in Danvers Township, McClean County, the daughter of Oscar and Candace Crow Bunch. She married James A. Jacobs in Davenport, Iowa in 1937. He preceded her in death in June of 1974. She later married Robert P. "Bob" Sargeant Sr. on Aug. 6, 1977, in Wataga. He preceded her in death on April 13, 2007.
She is survived by a son, James A.O. Jacobs, Ohio, Ill.; a daughter, Rebecca Beary, Wataga; and a grandson, Jay Beary, Wataga. She was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.
Marguerite was a homemaker who lived in the East Galesburg area most of her life. She graduated from Pecatonica High School. She was a member of Wataga Congregational Church.
Cremation will be accorded. Memorial graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 15 in Knoxville Cemetery. The Rev. David Kramer will officiate. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to the Wataga Congregational Church.
