Howard Staggs Obituary
He was born June 6, 1939, in Maysville, Kentucky, the son of Howard Grant and Edith Pearce Cooper Staggs Sr. He married Gerri Morrison Lindburg on April 26, 1980, in Galva.
He is survived by his wife, Gerri of Galesburg; his four sons, Timothy (Lori) Staggs of Painesville, Ohio, Tymand (Gregg Chelstowski) Staggs of Keansburg, New Jersey, Larry (Diana) Lindburg of Galva, and Roy (Debbie) Lindburg of Aiken, South Carolina; two daughters, Kim (Jeff) Banks of Galesburg and Myrna (Joe) Deangelis of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his cat, Chester. He is preceded in death by his parents and his infant son, Titus.
Howard was an insurance broker since 1969, and owner of Staggs Insurance Agency since 1983. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1957. He was a member of Kiwanis and the local and international Gideon's. Howard was a 50-year member of First United Methodist Church and had attended Community Bible of Knoxville for five years. He enjoyed owning and riding motorcycles. He loved woodworking and furniture making. He also loved his friends and family and was always upbeat.
Funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2016, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Pastor Mark Robinson will officiate. Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the chapel. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the OAKS or to Knox County Humane Society. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
