Jenni McGruder Obituary
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2018, at Bethel Baptist Church, Rev. Tyson Parks, III, will officiate. Burial will follow immediately in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation, however, a celebration of Jenni's life will be held starting at 5 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2018, at Soangetaha Country Club. In lieu of flowers, the family requests all donations be made to the Jenni Howe McGruder Memorial Fund at F & M Bank in Galesburg. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory.

Dear Family--I did not have the privilege of knowing Jenni because I am a lot older than she was. I read every story about her and my heart broke for her and her family. I viewed the interview with her concerning her sister's maternal losses and what I saw was a bubbly, vibrant, sweet, caring, loving, and open human being. This interview made the gun violence that took her life seem so very senseless and cold. She is leaving behind 2 beautiful tiny children, a husband who loves her, her parents who brought her into this world and nurtured her, and siblings, relatives and friends who will forever miss her here on this earth. I watched the memorial in the parking lot and heard the minister speak of Jesus's love and the promise of eternal life, and for those who mourn to look to Him for strength, courage, and for their own salvation. Thanks be to God for the life of Jenni Howe McGruder and we all pray the peace of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with all of you. "Good and gracious God, look upon your daughter, Jenni. Welcome her into your Kingdom and comfort her husband, children, parents, siblings and all who loved and knew her here on earth. Eternal rest grant Jenni, O Lord, and let Perpetual Light shine upon her. May she rest in peace." We on earth cannot possibly understand this vile act that took the earthly life of Jenni, but You in your infinite wisdom, have the power to take a senseless act and generate good. We offer up our prayers and ask for you mercy and grace, O Lord! AMEN.
