Joe Trupiano Obituary

GALESBURG - Joe Trupiano, 84, 2048 McMasters Ave., Galesburg, died at 6:55 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at Seminary Manor.

Joe was born April 12, 1924, in Galesburg, the son of Joseph and Lucrezia Giacona Trupiano. He married Rosaline Evans on July 28, 1956, in Galesburg. Joe is survived by his wife, Rosaline of Galesburg; two daughters, Susan and Rosalia Trupiano, both of Elk Grove Village; and a sister, Fannie (John) Tornquist of North Henderson. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Frank and Sam.

Joe worked for 54 years as a freight handler for CB&Q and in maintenance for BNSF, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Corpus Christi Church, with the Rev. Joseph Presley officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Watson Funeral Home, with the rosary prayed at 7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
