Mr. John W. Trout, 67, of Galesburg, Illinois died 6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2020 at his home.
He was born August 15, 1953 in Galesburg to William A. and Sheryl A. (Dykeman) Trout.
Surviving is a sister, Cindy A. (and Greg E.) Jackson of Galesburg and a nephew Gregory Jackson, Jr of Galesburg. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mark Stephen Trout. .
John graduated from Galesburg High School in 1971 and Carl Sandburg College in 1982. He was a "Jack of All Trades". He worked for Burlington Northern Rail Road, and later was a self-employed contractor. He then was a manager for Tractor Supply Company in Burlington, Wisconsin and then was transferred to the Galesburg Tractor Supply Company. He then worked for Kirchgessner Plumbing and Heating. For the last five years, until his retirement in 2015, he worked for Lindstrom's TV and Appliance. He was baptized in the Messiah Lutheran Church in Henderson Grove. He enjoyed inventing things and working on different projects. He loved the outdoors including gardening. He had a special connection with wild animals including feeding deer and squirrels by hand. John was a fan of auto racing and NASCAR.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m.to 12:00 Noon Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel. A private service will be at the chapel. Rev. Kurt Carlsen will officiate.
