Juan Guzman Obituary
He was born April 10, 1947, in Allende, Coah, Mexico, the son of Juan Jose and Eva (Aguillera) Guzman. He married Frances Ann Maciel on Nov. 20, 1968, in Galesburg. She preceded him in death on June 13, 2002.
He is survived by a son, Juan Jose Guzman Jr. of Galesburg; two brothers, Jesus (and Martha) Guzman of Galesburg and Hector (and Carolina) Guzman of Eagle Pass, Texas; three sisters, Arhelia (and David) Vasquez, Yolanda (and Pedro) Reyes, and Lola (and Oscar) Castillo, all of Allende, Coah, Mexico; a sister-in-law, Chila Guzman, also of Allende; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Rumaldo Guzman.
Juan was a core worker first at Iowa Malleable for 25 years and then for Aluminum Castings for 20 years. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Juan was also a member of the Moose Lodge.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel, followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father William Miller officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Juan's name may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church or to the family. We were sadden to hear of Juan's passing away so suddenly. Our deepest sympathy to his son and all of Juan's family members. Juan will be missed by those who knew him well. May he rest in peace with his wife Frances Ann and all of his deceased family and friends. Eternal rest grant unto Juan Jose Guzman Sr. O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him.

We are so saddened to hear of the passing of Juan. You never get over the loss of a loved one, you heal and go on, but you're never really whole again because now there's a hole which can't be repaired. Juan touched all of our lives in separate ways and will be in our hearts forever. We are honored to have called Juan our friend. Prayers to all his family and friends.
