Judith Ann McGriff, age 71, former resident of Naperville, passed away at St. Agnes hospital in Fond du Lac, WI on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, surrounded by her family.
Judy was born on March 27, 1950 in Galesburg, IL, the daughter of Walter and Ruby (Woods) Ferguson. She graduated in 1968 from Galesburg High School and married Bruce McGriff on November 28, 1970. Judy worked as a key punch operator and later as a florist. Judy grew all kinds of beautiful plants and flowers in her gardens, including 250 types of hostas. She enjoyed giving away plants from her gardens and cooking delicious food for family and loved ones. Judy was involved in ministries at the jail and the Lifespring shelter for women where she led bible studies. She was self-sacrificing and always thinking of others. Her joy, kindness, compassion and faith in God provided encouragement to all who knew her.
Judy is survived by her mother, Ruby Curtis of Galesburg, IL; her husband, Bruce McGriff of Markesan, WI; children, Monica McGriff of Pardeeville, WI and Jared McGriff of Cambria, WI; siblings, Everett (Susie) Ferguson of Davenport, IA, Linda Ferguson of Hamilton, IL, Chuck Allen of Galesburg, IL; grandchildren, Sonny and Cassidy Lund; other relatives and her church family. She was preceded in death by her brother, Steve Ferguson, father, Walter Ferguson and stepfather, Boyd Curtis.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church, N7631 State Road 22, Pardeeville, WI 53954 which will be given to the Pregnancy Resource Center, Portage, WI.
