Phillip White Obituary

KNOXVILLE - Phillip L. White, 70, Knoxville, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Mercer County Nursing Home in Aledo.
Phil was born Dec. 6, 1941, in Monmouth to Robert L. and Phyllis (Peterson) White.
He was raised in rural Monmouth, attended Law School and graduated from Warren High School in 1959. Phil attended Illinois State University and was a member of the Illinois Army National Guard.
Phil spent his entire career in the registered cattle business. He was one of the top herdsmen in the country, preparing cattle for the show and sale rings. Phil worked with organizations such as Garrett Angus Farms of Longmont, Colo., and Ankony and Lovana Farms of Clarksville, Ga., helping them to win top honors at major cattle shows in the purebred industry. The purebred cattle and embryo transplants became the seed stock for hundreds of herds in the U.S. and around the world.
He is survived by one son, Brad (Nancy) White, Denver, Colo.; one grandson, Garrison; two brothers, Thomas (Marsha) White, Moneta, Va., and Andy (Dian) White, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; three sisters, Linda (Gary) Morefield, Monmouth, Lorie (Steve) DeGeeter, Aledo, and Mary (Corky) Peters, Gilson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and one brother, Robert White Jr.
Cremation was accorded. There will be a private family service. Arrangements were handled by Bewley Funeral Home in Aledo.
