Shirley Kennedy Obituary

GALESBURG - Mrs. Shirley J. Kennedy, 83, Galesburg, died at 2:05 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born July 19, 1927, to Russell and Agnes Sandberg Webster. She married John E. Kennedy on June 27, 1947, in Galesburg. He preceded her in death Sept. 7, 1993.
Surviving are a son, Joe (and Pam) Kennedy of Galesburg; two daughters, Jo Ann (and Tim) Webber of Peoria and Marilyn McMenimen of East Peoria; two brothers, Rod Webster and Clarence Webster, both of Galesburg; two sisters, Kay Mercer of Springfield and Gloria Bigelow of Tampa, Fla.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Marilyn Kennedy; a son-in-law, Greg McMenimen; a brother, Wayne Webster; and a sister, Mary Ross.
Shirley was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Galesburg.
Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at Corpus Christi Church. Rev. William Miller will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel, with the rosary prayed at 5 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
