Stephen White Obituary

GALESBURG - Stephen M. White died at home on May 16, 2020.

He was born April 21, 1946, in St. Peter, Minnesota, to Elsie and Alvin White.

His family moved to Galesburg when Steve was a baby, so he grew up in Galesburg, graduating from Galesburg High School in 1964. He graduated from Knox College in 1971 with a degree in economics.

Steve was a real estate appraiser for Home Financial Services in Galesburg, and he later was president of Estes Park Savings Industrial Bank in Estes Park, Colorado.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Cathy; and their two children, Julie White of Galesburg and Andrew (and Angela) White of Marathon, Florida. He is also survived by two sisters, Marilyn Lowe of Springfield, Missouri, and Karen Avalos of Galesburg; and one brother, Roger White of Washington, D.C.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David White.

Steve's priority was to be a good provider for his family. As Steve requested, cremation will be accorded, and there will be no services. Memorials may be made to the Guardian Angels Humane Society, P.O. Box 94, Galesburg, IL 61402.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com.
