Albert Ayers Obituary
Dr. Albert B. Ayers, 92, of Norfolk, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of 66 years to Corinne (Egan) Ayers. Born in Grafton Massachusetts on September 26, 1925 he was the son of the late Albert and Anna (Cahill) Ayers. Albert graduated from Boston University School of Medicine in 1950 and was a member of Phi Beta Kapa, Alpha Omega Alpha, and Begg Honor Societies. Albert worked for many years as a corporate medical director and later as an emergency room physician. He was an officer in the United States Army and honorably served his country during the Korean War. Albert was an incredible husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was intelligent, kind, thoughtful, and loving. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who love him. In addition to his wife Corinne, Albert is survived his children, Elaine Ayers Boratko of New Hartford and her former husband Allen of Barkhamsted, Veronica "Niki" Ayers of Torrington, Daniel Ayers (April) of Norfolk, Timothy Ayers (Rene) of Norfolk, Emily Ayers and her partner Tom of Torrington, Neil Ayers (Hedy) of Simsbury; his daughter-in-law Ann Ayers of Winsted; thirteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; his sister-in-law Olympia Ayers, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, Albert was predeceased by his sons, Gregory and Matthew, and by his brother Edward Francis Ayers. A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday October 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Norfolk, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Albert's memory to the American Cancer Society or the National Kidney Foundation. For online condolences please visit www.cremationct.com.
