Martha (Locascio) Shelesky
Martha (Locascio) Shelesky, 92, of Winsted, CT, peacefully passed away Monday, January 10, 2022. She was the beloved wife to Anthony "Tony" Shelesky for 70 years.
Marty was born August 21, 1929, in Winsted, CT, the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Mella) Locascio. She was employed by Dano Electric with their Soldering Department until the company closed, and later at Hinsdale School in the cafeteria until her retirement.
In addition to being a devoted wife to Tony, she was a loving mother to their sons Gary Shelesky and his wife Patricia of Colebrook, CT, and to James Shelesky of Winsted, CT. She is also survived by two brothers, Joseph (Sonny) Locascio of Torrington, CT, Ansolmo (Brother) Locascio of Texas; one sister, Agnes Iffland and her husband Walter of Harwinton, CT; three grandchildren, Sandra Prahm and her husband Charles, Jr., Hollie Shelesky, Paige Shelesky; two great-grandchildren Gabriella Prahm and Gabriel Shelesky, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Phyllis Dery.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT. Graveside services will be held in the spring at St. Joseph Cemetery. All relatives and friends attending calling hours are asked to wear protective face masks while inside of Cook Funeral Home following COVID prevention protocol.
