Anthony "Tony" J. Shelesky, 93, of Winsted, CT, peacefully passed away on March 18, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Martha (Locascio) Shelesky on January 10, 2022.
Tony was born April 19, 1928, in New Philadelphia, PA, the son of the late Antony and Anna (Lescavage) Shelesky. He served his country with the US Navy. A longtime employee by Winsted Precision Ball, retiring as a Plant Manager. He enjoyed the outdoors where he spent much of his time hunting, fishing and harvesting mushrooms. He enjoyed sharing his stories and vast knowledge of the outdoors with friends and family.
He is survived by two sons, Gary Shelesky and his wife Patricia of Colebrook, CT, James Shelesky of Winsted, CT; three grandchildren, Sandra Prahm and her husband Charles, Jr., Hollie Shelesky, Paige Shelesky; two great-grandchildren Gabriella Prahm and Garbriel Shelesky, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, George Shelesky, Edward Shelesky and Joseph Shelesky, and one sister, Vicki Shelesky Pillar.
Calling hours will be held for Tony tomorrow, Friday, March 25, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT. Together as they were in life, graveside committal services will be held for both Tony, with full military honors accorded, and for Martha, on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery, Torringford St., (Route 183), Winsted, CT 06098. Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at St. Joseph Cemetery.
