NICOLAS PADIN

PADIN, NICOLAS “NICK” Nicolas “Nick” Padin, 83, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Torrington Health & Rehab Center following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Patricia (Gurtowsky) Padin. Born in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico, February 2, 1931, he was the son of the late Eladio and Abdulia (Butler) Padin and had come to Winsted in 1958. Prior to his retirement from the Brunswick Corp. after 20 years of service, he had also worked for the Gilbert Clock Co. for several years. Working with and repairing clocks was a craft Nick enjoyed doing until his death. In addition to his wife of 54 years he is survived by three sons, Nicolas Padin of CA, Robert Padin of East Granby and Anthony Padin of Winsted; two daughters, Bonnie Stetson of Selkirk, NY and Ava Dube of New Milford; a brother, Camilo Padin of Winsted; a sister, Eva Padin of Puerto Rico; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Henry Padin. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 25, at the Maloney Funeral Home 55 Walnut Street, Winsted at 7:00 PM. Friends may call at the funeral home two hours prior to the service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
