Torrington- Steven A. Scacca, 73, died Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. He was the beloved husband of the late Joann G. (Lazzaro) Scacca. Mr. Scacca was born in Winsted on September 27, 1943, son of the late Salvatore A. and Alice R. (Carroll) Scacca, and had been a lifelong Torrington area resident. Steven was a U.S. Army National Guard Veteran, and had been employed as a salesman with both Pheoll Manufacturing and Platt Brothers & Co. before his retirement. Mr. Scacca was a communicant of St. Peter Church, a former member of the Pinewoods Racquet Club, enjoyed tennis, bowling, and was an avid Red Sox and New York Giants fan. Survivors include a sister, Carol A. Thibault and her husband George of Torrington; a nephew, Daniel G. Thibault of Torrington; two nieces, Ellen C. Thibault of Rockport, MA, and Paula M. Thibault of Torrington; and a grandnephew, William Surgeon. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the nurses and staff at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital ICU, for the wonderful care shown to Steven during his final days. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 1, 2017 at 10:00a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 107 E. Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30a.m. Burial with full Military Honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Winsted. Friends may call Monday morning from 9:00a.m. to 10:00a.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.
