Aaron Wagoner Obituary

Aaron Charles Wagoner, 23 years of age, of Eugene Oregon, passed away on August 30th, 2017. A memorial service was held on September 9th.

Aaron was born in Boulder Colorado on July 5th, 1994, the only child of Mic and Charlie Wagoner. When he was one year old the family moved to Redmond, Washington and in 2008 they all moved to Eugene where Aaron attended South Eugene High School and Lane Community College.

Even before learning to ride a bike, Aaron learned to ride a skateboard and, to his last days, despite bruises and breaks, enjoyed the thrill of a good hill. Aaron was also deeply involved with music and loved playing his guitars and jamming with friends late into the night. His notebooks are filled with scribbled ideas for songs and riffs that he had come up with over the years. Aaron always liked to draw and sketch and with the encouragement of a family friend and accomplished artist he took many art classes at LCC and was considering that and music for majors. Additional interests of his included cooking up big pots of soup or interesting dishes for his parents and many friends as well as hiking, rock climbing and camping. His biggest excursion was hiking and busing around the South Island of New Zealand with a good friend, as part of the Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms program.

Aaron is survived by his parents, Mic and Charlie Wagoner; his aunts and uncles, Joanne Baumgardner, Dave Patrick, Rob Patrick, and Cathy Harman; as well as five cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert T. and Anne Patrick.

Aaron was kind, interested in others and so loved by family and many friends.

Aaron was one of the most intelligent and brilliant minds to have graced this Earth. He influenced everyone he met, and was always advocating for the betterment of others. He had a heart of gold and loved anyone and everyone that he met. I never heard Aaron speak poorly about anyone. He never said something just for the sake of saying it. Aaron was one of the closest people to my heart. I considered him to be a sibling that I would never have as I am an only child. I miss him every single day. And I try to live my life in order to honor him. He was a full blown artist. He was a poet, a painter, a musician, a sculptor, a writer, a singer... you name it. If you gave him something to create, he would revel in the project to the point of exhaustion... fall asleep... get up and then keep going. He worked at what he loved. He was passionate and he was raw. He never held back. He was a soul that made enormous ripples in the universe, even if he didn't know it.
