(DANNY) BOLIN

Danny Bolin was born February 25, 1937 in Winona, Missouri. The family moved to Eugene, Oregon when Danny was just three months old. He moved to Oakridge as a young child and fell in love with the community, and the recreational opportunities afforded there.

As a young man Danny served in the Air Force as a Military Policeman while attending college. In 1963 he married Alice Davis. It was important to Danny and Alice to raise their family in Oakridge because they wanted to teach their children small town values, to love nature, and their fellow person.

Danny worked many jobs during his career. He worked for the Eugene Fire Department for years, he sold cars for Bolin Chevrolet, and he worked for the United States Forest Service in Oakridge. While he was working at these places he always had a side business. For a time he sold motorcycles out of his home, for many years he owned the local carwash, later Danny and Alice planted 10,000 Christmas trees on their acreage.

Danny enjoyed doing many activities with his family including riding motorcycles and quads, and camping. He also liked following the news, working on engines of all kinds, and working at his home.

Above all he loved his family members and was especially proud of his children and grandchildren. The legacy he left them was an exemplary commitment to his family, and human kind.

Danny passed away on March 22nd at his home in Oakridge. He is survived by his wife, his three children and their spouses, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, his sister, and an aunt. We love him, and miss him immensely!
