David Bolin Obituary
Athens - David M.Bolin, 78, of Athens, died Sunday, February 1, 2026 at his daughters residence in Albany where he had been residing during his illness.
Born December 27, 1947, in Athens, Ohio, he was the son of the late Harold Stephson and Virgene Van Dyke Bolin. David was a 1966 graduate of Athens High School and has lived in his family farm house on Radford Road all his life. He was a Member of the Ohio 5 Bricklayers Union and was a lifelong mason. David enjoyed working outdoors, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by one daughter, Tina (Bill) Cartell; one son, Tom (Beth) Bolin; four grandchildren, Maggie (Andrew) Coe, Mitchell Bolin, Connor Bolin and Logan Bolin; two great grandchildren, Zeke and Zack Coe and one brother, Keith (Sarah) Bolin.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Kris Poling Bolin in 2020 and two brothers, Harold Bolin Jr and Gordon Bolin.
Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at the Hughes Funeral Home in Athens with Rev Maggie Coe officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 PM. Burial will be in the Alexander Cemetery. Friends are invited to sign the online guestbook at ehwfh.com
