John Robinson Orbeton, age 67, of Springfield, OR passed away peacefully on September 2, 2017. He was the son of Maurice Cleveland Orbeton and Grata Robinson Orbeton of Satellite Beach, FL and Windham, ME. As the son of a Naval Commander, he lived in many places, including Italy, RI, HI, CA, VA, and SC. John graduated from Lassen Community College in Forestry and made a life-long career in the US Forest Service, retiring as a Fire Behavior Analyst.

John loved guitars, music, surfing, the outdoors and tinkering. He tinkered with computers, tube amps and sewing machines. He was a big supporter of the Eugene/Springfield local music scene, and could be found participating in and appreciating great blues music at Good Times, The Vets Club and The Saturday Market.

John was predeceased by his parents Maurice and Grata Orbeton and his son, Jonathon Josiah Orbeton. John leaves behind his loving wife, Susan Orbeton of Springfield, a daughter Jessica Orbeton Curran-Lamoureux, her husband Daryle Lamoureux, and grandson Raef Curran of South Portland, ME; step-daughter Christine Tarasovis Hancock of Charlotte, NC, her husband Phillip Hancock and their daughters Lauren and Claire; sisters Kathryn O. Greenberg of Brattleboro, VT and her husband John Greenberg, Ellie Orbeton of Litchfield, CA; and Mary O. Bellomo of Seminole, FL and her husband Randy Bellomo, their children Kristen Bellomo and Bradley Bellomo and their granddaughter Chloe Bellomo; brother-in-law David O'Connor of Shoreline, WA and his wife Nancy, and many, many relatives, loved ones and friends. He will be deeply missed.
