Larry Chura Obituary
Larry moved to Philomath in 1973, serving on its city council from 1981-1984 and running an auto repair business. He later lived in Klamath Falls, Eugene and Veneta. He was an avid reader, fiction writer, hiker and photographer. Larry will be remembered for his kindness and witty humor.
A memorial celebration will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 26th at the Olivet Baptist Church, 88150 2nd Street, Veneta, Oregon, with a potluck to follow.

I knew Larry all thru High School. We were good friends and good conservatives. We had a lot of good times as those days were much more simple. Larry and I kept in contact for some time after High School. We had a lot of close conversations about life in general. The last time I saw Larry was in spring of 1970 when he showed up to my apartment, with a cosaic hair cut. That is with a pony tail coming out the back of his head and the rest of his head was shaved. We laughed as I knew he was very proud of his Ukraine heritage as I am with my German heritage. We would contact thru class mates a 1/2 dozen times thru the years and lost touch. I found out he passed thru classmates.com and was sad that I did not know about it then. Larry and I were good friends in our younger years and I am sure we would have been good friends thru life. I wish we would have kept in touch better, I miss you my good friend.
