Paulson
1928 - 2013
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 1465 Coburg Rd. in Eugene for Rae Yvonne Paulson of Eugene, who died March 4, 2013 of age related causes surrounded by her three sons. She was 84.
She was born August 12, 1928, in Devil's Lake, North Dakota to Clarence and Edna (Fifer) Schroeder. Rae married Robert M. "Bob" Paulson on September 11, 1949 in Grand Forks, N.D.
Rae graduated from Central High School, Grand Forks, N.D., followed by education at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks and NMC in Havre, Montana in medical transcription on scholarship. Following graduation, she was employed at the Grand Forks Clinic and Leigh Clinic in Grand Forks, N.D. Rae, along with her family moved to Eugene in 1959 where she was employed with Drs. Miller, Johnston, and Maxwell, and with Drs. Serbu, Hockey, and Golden. She was a Certified Medical Transcriptionist.
She was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, a participant in the Business Women's Class taught by the late Grace Morris, Blanche Markham Guild, AAMA, AAMT, Friends of Eugene Public Library, Mt. Pisgah Arboretum, Phi Beta Patrons, Eugene Symphony Guild, and the Eugene Country Club. Rae enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, golfing, and was an avid bridge player.
Survivors include her husband, three sons, David of Brooklyn, N.Y., Daniel and John of Eugene, and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by her elder brother, Milton of Charlotte, North Carolina.
A private family interment will take place at Rest Haven Memorial Park.

Rae was a first cousin of mine but unfortunately we never had the opportunity to get well aquainted because of age differencs and where we grew up and lived long distances from one another.
