Violet Baker Obituary

Violet Mae Baker passed away Nov. 28, 2014 at the age of 87. She was born May 13, 1927 to Silas and Zelma Wiltsey in Bengin, Washington. She married Harlan Jereal Dean Hartman in Carlton, Oregon, where she attended school.
She worked for Safeway for many years. She had such a great business sense and entrepreneurial skills that led her to many sucessful successful business endeavors, including an insurance agency in Junction City and Ontario; she owned a Radio Shack and Beauty Salon; she was a hotel manager in Fresno, CA, and an owner of an antique and toy store in Springfield.
She retired to have time to enjoy her family more, gardening, collecting antiques, crocheting, cooking many family dinners, candy making, and attending Eastside Baptist Church.
She so loved her family and is survived by her daughter-in-law Betty Hartman of Ontario, Pat and Diana of Ontario, OR, Dan and Char Hartman of Eugene; her brothers Clyde Wiltsey and Rosie of Oceanshores, WA, Abe and Eloise of Springfield, and Dwight Wiltsey and Marie of Eugene; 8 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; She is preceded in death by Harlan Hartman, Richard Baker, and her son Harlan Michael of Ontario.
There will be a celebration of Violet's life in early spring. Time and place will be announced.
