Bill Stringfield of Eugene, OR passed away December 28, 2013, from a stroke, age 88. He was born November 25, 1925 in Pomeroy, WA. to parents John Lester & Alberta Naomi (Baldwin) Stringfield.

He was in the United States Army, served with 7th Mechanized Cavalry Reconnaissance Troop in Korea in 1945. He was a recon car driver used in scouting missions and on alerts.

Bill was in the lumber business for over 40 years. He owned/operated Northwest Lumber Company (Hwy 99/Beltline; where Jerry's Home Improvement Center is located).

He married MaryLee L. (Miller) Stringfield, August 29, 1947 in Eugene; they were married 63 years. She preceded him in death July 7, 2010. Bill & MaryLee were members of Willamette Christian Center for over 50 years.

He is survived by son Billy Stringfield & daughter Cindy (David) Eastburn both of Eugene. Sisters: Margaret Fritts, Seattle, WA & Joanne Chamberlain, Eugene; preceeded in death by 2 brothers: Don Stringfield & Gene Stringfield. He had 4 grandchildren: Aaron (Beth) Stringfield, & Michael (Brittny) Stringfield, Taylor & Connor Eastburn; 3 great-grandchildren Preston, Colette & Ruby Mae Stringfield.

Memorial Service will be Saturday, January 11, 2014, 1:00pm at Willamette Christian Center, 2500 W 18th, Eugene. Previous arranged burial at West Lawn Memorial Park.
