Josephine Hume Obituary
EATON — Josephine V. Hume, 94, of Eaton, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at her residence.
She was born on Oct. 15, 1927, in Elmira, Michigan, to the late John and Josefina (Sagot) Blasko.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband Russell Vallery; eight siblings; and son-in-law George Ashbrook.
She is survived by her second husband of 50 years, Albert Hume of Eaton; daughters: Courtney Ashbrook of Tucson, Arizona, Rita McFarland of Sugarloaf, California, Wilma McKee-Brown of Eaton, and Lynn (Ryan) Stapleton-Fugate of Portland, Oregon; son Dennis (Marie) Vallery of Tucson, Arizona; Stepsons Robert (Laurie) Hume of Dayton, and Edward (Linda) Hume of Anna; grandchildren: Butch, Jenifer, Jimmy, Erin (Mike), Casey (Chris), Brooke (Donovan) and Regina (Taylor); great-grandchildren: Austin, Ayden, Ashlynn, Novalee, Emily, Samantha, Kenneth, Andrea, Hannah, Liam and McKenzie; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 20, from noon until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton. Burial will follow at Preble Memory Gardens in West Alexandria. Memorial contributions may be sent to Everheart Hospice.
