Jim and I were team mates at Ohio University and friends. I graduated before Jim and went on to law school. A few years later we ran into each other on E. Broad Street and stayed in touch after that either by telephone or when attending Ohio University baseball reunions. Jim was a good person and I was very sorry to hear of his passing.

I just learned yesterday about Jim's passing . Jim was a few years older than me and we played basketball and baseball together in high school. I have a lot of good memories of those times. He often took me home from practice and games and we just hung out. I always looked up to him and he was a great role model. When Coach Revis passed a few years back Jim contacted me to write a note for Coach's funeral service and I was honored. Later, Jim came by to see us when he was on his way to Greenville, SC to visit family. I know Jim favorably influenced a lot people. He certainly did mine. He will be greatly missed..

So sorry that we lost Mac and my condolences to his family. We were teammates on the baseball team at Ohio University and have stayed in touch since then. Saw each other at the reunion in October. A good friend who will be missed.

My condolences to the McGregor family. As Bob Willets daughter mentioned the OU baseball team that we were members of in the mid to later 1960´s was an extremely close knit group. Staying home or traveling for away games was a family affair and Mac always seemed like one of the parents . I will miss his calls and frequent conversations especially those that occurred while he was driving long distances to visit family

I´ll miss you for the rest of my days ole buddy. We had some great times, rode those motorcycles on a lot of great trips, and shared a lot of personal stories

Jim and I were team mates on the Harrison High School varsity football team during our high school years. Jim was our new quarterback and I was a guard on the line. I had a number of 22 which is normally a backfield number. Jim had a habit of backing up as the defense came at him and at first we lost a lot of yards in the wrong direction. I said to Jim you need to throw the ball away when you can´t get free. The next time I looked back and I was sure he would get sacked again. All at once he threw the ball to me. I caught it and hit the ground. We both waited for a penalty but it was missed . After a few of these catches Jim advised me that I was his best receiver. He came to Wilmington around a year ago and we talked for 5 plus hours. He said he was checking up on his best receiver. He was a very special man who was just fun to know and to be around.

I met Jim years ago when I was assigned to serve the Reading school district. Jim was the business manager. He immediately greeted me and made me feel accepted and welcome. Over the years I ran into Jim at other school districts that I served and it was just like we had worked together for years. We will truly miss Jim whom I know had many wonderful friends and associates over the years. A very generous and kind man, Jim will be missed by so many of us.

Jim played baseball with my father, Bob Willet, at Ohio University, where they became BIG buddies. My dad called him "Mac!" most of the time. He was a groomsmen in my parent's wedding in 1966 and he attended my wedding in 1991. Their OU baseball team remained a close knit group and they had several reunions over the last 50 years that allowed these guys to get together for really fun weekends every so often. Jim's sense of humor set him apart from most people. He was so just much fun to be around. My family will miss him dearly.
