Balsly C. Reid, 65, of Hartford, CT, entered into the gates of Heaven on Monday, January 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Balsly was born in Stony Ground, Anguilla, on August 29, 1960, son of the late Clifford E. and Beulah N. (Bryan) Reid. He was one of 8 siblings, which include Dalphine Reid, Zona Lee Reid, Shelsea Reid, Adionne Reid, Clinton "Happy" Reid, Dollynell Reid, and Sherylnell Reid. He attended Stoney Ground High School and, with his family, built a successful distribution company and hotel in Anguilla before immigrating to the United States to be with his children.
A man of many interests, Balsly found joy in karaoke, playing dominoes and Ludo, savoring Caribbean cuisine, construction and building projects, badminton, traveling, learning new skills, fishing, and automobiles. Above all else, he cherished and deeply loved his children.
Balsly is survived by his two daughters, Benique S. Reid and Balean S. Reid.
Arrangements: All services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Brookside Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 200 Benson Road, Middlebury, has been entrusted with Balsly's services.
