David Morey Obituary

David M. Morey
7/17/1938-6/2/2025
Born July 17, 1938 on the Isle of Wight, England, to Charles and Ivy (Stevens) Morey, Dave spent the first 28 years of his life on the small island.
He married his true love, Pamela (Calvert) Morey in 1960 and moved to the United States in 1966 to pursue the American dream. While living in England he was in the Army and he went to "painting school" and spent time as a painter's apprentice. His dream was to paint Hollywood sets but instead he settled on starting his own business called D&S Painting Contractors after moving to America. He prided himself in top quality painting and wallpapering and continued working until about 2014, when he retired to help care for his wife.
Dave loved to play cards and bet the horses with his best friends and chat with his buddies at the paint store (and the grocery store and the pharmacy and Burger King and pretty much everywhere he went!) He also loved helping take care of his beloved granddaughters, often taking them to and from school and dance and cheer when they were younger.
He was the best husband, Dad, Pop-Pop and friend there ever was and will be truly missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.
Dave passed away peacefully at home on June 2, 2025 to finally be reunited with his wife of 65 years. He leaves behind his daughters Karen (Kiazim) and Chrissy (Elmazi) and their husbands Roy and Sam, also he leaves his pride and joy, his granddaughters Jillian, Olivia and Brooke.
There will be a Celebration of Life to gather with friends and family to remember Dave on June 23, 2025 at the Grand Oak Villa, 550 Sylvan Lake Rd., Oakville, CT from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
