It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that the family of Jillian Leah Grady, age 46, of Florida, formerly of Waterbury and Wolcott, share the news of her unexpected passing on Thursday, September 18, 2025.
Jill was born on July 24, 1979, in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of Joanne Grady and the late Robert Grady. She was a free spirit, with a big heart and plenty of grit. While her journey had its challenges, Jillian's life was also filled with laughter, adventure, and remarkable resilience. She loved animals, especially her dogs. As a kid, she loved to read, swim, and get into neighborhood activities with her friends. Over her life, she enjoyed adventuring to the beach or the woods with friends or family. People were often drawn to her beautiful smile, quick wit, and undeniable spark. Jillian was loyal to those she loved and offered encouragement and support to her lifelong friends.
In 2024, seeking a fresh start, Jill relocated from Connecticut to Florida to be near her mother, her biggest supporter. Though her life ended too soon, Jillian was deeply loved and valued. She will be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, and above all: her fierce independence. Jill will be profoundly missed by all who knew her and never stopped believing in her.
Jillian is survived by her mother, Joanne Grady of Sebastian, FL; her uncle, Carl DeLoi; her aunt, Candence; her uncle, Walter Gerdauskas; and many loving extended family members and lifelong friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Shawn Grady; her father, Robert Grady; and her aunt, Sheila Gerdauskas; along with her loving grandparents.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 1st, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at New Saint Joseph's Cemetery, Waterbury, CT. In lieu of flowers, and to honor Jillian's memory, memorial donations can be made to the CT Humane Society, https://cthumane.org/ .
