Laura Palmer Obituary

Laura Jean Palmer
08/21/2025
Laura-Jean (Laurie) Palmer passed away peacefully on August 21st, 2025. Born on June 18th, 1939, to Silvio Formaggioni and his wife Lillian Monnier, she was the widow of Robert M. Palmer. She lived in Bakerville CT for 55 years and spent 30 winters on St. Croix, USVI.
After Laurie graduated from Torrington High School and Baypath Junior College she was employed in the banking and insurance fields. In her own words she was a dancer, a swimmer, a keyboard player, a majorette, a water skier, a confidant, a mother and a great-grandmother.
Laurie is survived by her son Mark Palmer (CO) and his son Taliesin Bozik (CO), her daughter Alison Palmer (ME), her close cousin Don Formaggioni (CA), and a gaggle of nieces and nephews of the Palmer families in Torrington.
Respects can be offered on Saturday August 30th at the Phalen Funeral Home with viewing time from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Informal service and burial at Hillside Cemetery Chapel at 10 a.m. Both in Torrington. Colorful attire welcome. There will be a gathering for snacks at Laurie's home after the services.
In lieu of flowers or donations, the family would encourage you to embody Laurie's spirit and just go dancing already. www.phalenfuneral.com
