Louis Del Pivo Obituary
Louis Joseph Del Pivo, 90, of Colchester, CT, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, with his loving grandson Kyle by his side.
Born June 10, 1935, in Waterbury, CT, Louis was the only son of the late Louis and Josephine (Battistelli) Del Pivo. He grew up in Naugatuck with his three sisters, all of whom predeceased him: Esterena (Rena), Enes (Bob Davis), and Alice (John Di Nola). He was also predeceased by his daughter Tina Marie Del Pivo and niece Linda (Del Pivo) Riley. Louis is survived by his children Richard, Robert (Bridgette), and Cindy (Brian Mellor); grandsons Andrew (Amber) and Kyle Del Pivo; daughter-in-law Marjorie; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family. In 1956, he married Margie Vassak, and together they raised their family in Waterbury and later Naugatuck before moving to Colchester in 1981. They were married nearly 69 years before Margie's passing in April 2025. A devout Jehovah's Witness, Louis was baptized in 1949 and served at the world headquarters in the 1950s and later as an elder in Connecticut congregations. He worked over 40 years as a deli manager and was proud that his grandson Kyle followed in his footsteps-not only in work, but more importantly, in faith. The family expresses deep gratitude to neighbor Bill and his dog Hero for their daily visits and to their spiritual brothers and sisters for their loving support during Louis's illness and passing.
