Martha Severson-Barth Obituary

Martha Severson-Barth
Martha E. Severson-Barth, born to the late Genevieve and Everette Severson, passed away on September 13, 2025. Born on January 9, 1943, she is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Ebert-Barth, and grandson, Tyler Thompson, both of Caldwell, ID. She is also survived by her loving husband of Oxford, Birdsey Joseph Barth, prior owner of Hanlon's East Side service of Waterbury, and 26 years at Ted Traub Auto Sales of Watertown, and sister, Carla Mellins, of Pauley Island, SC.
Martha and Joseph had a loving marriage of 60 years. Martha graduated from Kaynor Tech as a dress maker in the class of 1960. For years, she worked at Freedman's of Waterbury, Bristol, Co., and The First National Bank of Litchfield. Martha dearly loved her family and had a heart as big as Connecticut. Martha's love and talent made her own beautiful wedding dress and, 38 years later, made her daughter's dress.
All Martha ever wanted was to be with Joe. Martha passed away at the Villa of Stamford. For over 2 years, she spent every Friday night at the Texas Road House, where she always ordered the crispy chicken salad with honey mustard. Everyone there loved her. Joe finds peace that one day he will again be with Martha.
A celebration of life will be shared with family and friends at a later date. Joe will always love his Martha.

Martha was my first cousin, and we grew up together in the `50s and 60s. We spent many happy hours together, into our later years. Will always remember her smile and the sound of her laughter.
