Nancy T. Evers passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital at the age of 84. She was born in Torrington, CT on May 4th, 1941, the daughter of Kenneth and Lois Thomas. Nancy grew up on Torringford West St., attended Torrington High School and Central CT State University where she obtained degrees in biology and education. She returned to teach at Torrington High School where she met her husband Edwin. They were married April 26th, 1969. Together they settled in Litchfield and built a home which they enjoyed for 55 years. She spent much time and took great pride in keeping her house in pristine condition, as well as cooking for her family especially on the holidays. Nancy and Ed spent many Februarys in Aruba and Clearwater Beach Florida appreciating the warm weather and attending NY Yankees spring training games as season ticket holders. After leaving teaching full time, she spent many years later in life as a substitute teacher in both the Litchfield and WAMOGO school systems where she made many friends. She leaves behind her husband Edwin C. Evers, her son Edwin J. Evers, her sister Marlene Fowler along with many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Kenneth Thomas Jr. and her infant brothers Stephen and Frederick Thomas. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy's name can be made to Litchfield Ambulance Association, PO Box 651, Litchfield, CT 06759. The family wishes to thank the ambulance and its members for the care they provided Nancy over the last 6 years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday May 30, 2026, at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Litchfield at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial of cremains at St. Anthony Cemetery.
