"Eagle Pete"
Prospect, CT
Peter Anthony Scionti, 77, of Prospect, entered the Gates of Heaven on Sunday September 21, 2025 at St Mary's Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Pete was born in Waterbury on December 25, 1947, son of the late Anthony Joseph and Janis (Miller) Scionti.
He graduated from Crosby High School, Class of 1965. He was an avid car enthusiast which led to a lifelong career in the automotive industry. In 1972, he opened Eagle Auto Body, Inc which he successfully operated with great joy until his final days. Eagle Autobody was well known for painting and repairing school buses, UPS trucks, ambulances as well as large vehicles and fleets. He also was the co-founder of Waterbury Towing and Recovery.
Pete will be remembered for his jovial sense of humor, charismatic and larger than life personality. Some of Pete's happiest moments were spent at his West Haven beach house, enjoying visits by his beloved daughter, Ashley, in the company of his faithful dogs, Rockwell and Fauci. Pete was known for countless quiet acts of kindness and for the joy he found in watching sports and car races.
Pete is survived by; a daughter, Ashley Scionti and Michaela Mc Feely of Worcester, MA; a stepson, Matthew Zeghibe of Waterbury; a stepdaughter, Amelia "Amy" Zeghibe of Waterbury; a sister, Sandra Halverson and her husband Wayne of Cohasset, MA; his former wife and friend Teresa Scionti of Prospect, and Peter was predeceased by his beloved son, Nicholas Anthony.
Arrangements: Funeral Saturday 8:30 a.m.from Chase Parkway Memorial, The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury to St. Bridget of Sweden Church 175 Main Street Cheshire for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery in Prospect. Calling hours will be held Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution made in Pete's memory to Connecticut Children's Foundation.
